For some reason, I thought that before duplicating the database ­ such as,
when I copy the MUD folder to an external hard drive ­ that one is supposed
to go into activity monitor and quit the database daemon. Otherwise you are
copying an "open" database.

Is this not necessary? Is quitting the daemon superfluous voodoo?

The Database Daemon is pretty much ALWAYS open in the background on my Mac.
