Actually, there is a way. I have been a satisfied user for some time now of
"EntourageABMenu" (don't have the URL, sorry -- check Versiontracker.com),
which places an icon on your Mac's menu bar. From there you can access a
drop down menu to select entries from the Entourage address book without
launching Entourage. It includes listings by name, by company, by category,
by geographical area, and by "recently used", and any selection pops up
alongside the drop down menu, from where you can then click on an address to
copy it to the clipboard, click an email address to open a new message,
click on a URL to go to a webpage, or click a tel. no. to have the no. open
in a separate, large window for easy visibility when dialing. As I recall,
it's a $15 shareware.
