I'm not sure why the latter problem is occurring, but the difference between
forward and redirect is in who the sender of forwarded/redirected messageis.
Suppose person A sends you (person B) a message and you want to send it on
to person C:

* if you forward it, C will receive a message from you (B), and the original
message from A will be embedded within that message;

* if you redirect it, C will a message from *A*, and the original message
will be unchanged. The From line might say something like "From:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (by way of [EMAIL PROTECTED])", I can't remember.
