I'm using Entourage 2004 version 11.3.6 (070618), on a MacBook Pro running
OS X 10.5.1

Here is the question: Is there any way to restore JUST calendar events and
tasks but NOT mail and addresses from a Time Machine Entourage backup which
is about a week old? As you might imagine, I have had significant changes to
mail and many new addresses added/changed in the last week. As such, I
really don't want to revert to an old file with those, especially since
everything is intact and working fine with my Entourage E-mail and Address
Book. Is this a job for some sort of Paul Berkowitz script?

Here is the background:

I'm switching over from my trusty 5-year old Palm Treo 600 to a shiny new
iPhone tomorrow.

In trying clean things up and doing some unwise experimenting with iCal,
MissingSync for Palm, iSync, Entourage Sync Services, and who knows what
else, I managed to delete all of my Entourage Calendar events and all of my
recurring tasks. It looks like the one-time tasks are still there. My
addresses and e-mail are both intact.

I then did a one-way MissingSync sync from the Treo back to Entourage
(handheld overwrites Entourage). It looked like it restored at least some
Calendar events in Entourage, and the non-recurring tasks. The sync was
interrupted by some glitch. A few minutes later, I tried another one-way
sync from the Treo to Entourage. As that was happening, I noted that in the
open Entourage calendar window that the events that had been previously
added were disappearing.

I then also discovered that Calendar Events and Task had now also
disappeared from the Treo. I'm guessing that it had something to do with the
Sync Services in Entourage, noting that it had already deleted the files I
had just restored and deleting them again, essentially defaulting to what it
thought was the latest changes, if that makes any sense.

I have since disabled everything that I could think of that may be related
to sync between Entourage, .Mac, iCal and the Treo - .Mac Sync, Entourage
Sync Services, MissingSync, iSync.

Thanks in advance,

Ed O'Neal
