Claudia:

You aren't required to use either Address Book or iCal...just Sync Services (AB
and iCal are both "subscribers" to the data in Sync Services...for lack of a
better metaphor). In your Entourage preferences under Sync Services, make sure
you've enabled "Synchronize events and tasks with iCal and .Mac." The in
iTunes, select your iPhone as a source, click the Info tab, and enable "Sync
iCal calendars". If you want to backsync, make sure to check the box that tells
iTunes to add events created on the iPhone to the Entourage calendar.

If you're not seeing the Entourage calendar as an option in iTunes, you
probably have a Sync Services problem. Launch iCal and look at your calendars
list...verify that the Entourage calendar appears there. If not, you may need
to reset your sync history (via iSync) or more likely, wipe out the Sync
Services database and start from scratch (
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/troubleshoot/syncservices.html#ss2).

Under Leopard, the iPhone doesn't show the sync to Entourage option. How or
why or what do I do to get that back, don't want to go through iCal. Bad
enough I have to go through Address Book ;-(
