A few weeks ago I read a posting on Apple¹s support site that said if you¹re getting duplicate calendar entries syncing Entourage with iCal, you may have multiple versions of Entourage, especially 2004 and 2008, installed and set up to sync.
I get a flock of duplicate entries on a semi-regular basis. Strangely enough, they tend to be only events with no start and end time specified (³all day events² in Entourage). I¹ve solved this problem by religiously categorizing every entry I make into Entourage¹s calendar, so that when the duplicates show up I can just delete uncategorized events, which the duplicates always seem to be. I checked pretty carefully and there¹s no obvious trace of Entourage 2004, but I can¹t tell for sure because there are a bunch of weirdly named files in the Library/Applications Support and the Preferences folders for iCal and Entourage. Does anyone know of alternative causes of duplicated calendar events when syncing iCal with Entourage, or can someone please provide a guide for assuring that there aren¹t ghosts of Entourage 2004 still haunting my MacBook Pro...
