here are several methods for sending digests, what type is used
depends on the list server software being used and the list owners
preferences. Most recent list software recommends MIME digests and
many people prefer this because on a full featured mail client this
automagically produces separate messages for the recipient that can be
replied to as individual messages rather than the list having to deal
with people replying to (and often quoting) the entire digest.
Jud Spencer (who owns and operates this list) has obviously elected to
use MIME digests. He is the one who would have to be persuaded to
change things :)
