This was one of three major issues that caused me to stop using Entourage after being a charter subscriber.

There is no workable solution for a Treo/Mac User with Entourage 2008. Period. Any more time you spend trying to make it work will only be wasted time.

You have three options:

1. Go back to Entourage 2004. Good luck getting your data files back to the status where they will work with 2004.

2. Buy a different cell phone. An iPhone is better than a Treo for Entourage, but you still need to sync Entourage with iCal in order to get the calendar data into the iPhone. Expect frequent random duplicated calendar events and contacts (which will disappear if you try option 3).

3. Lose Entourage (like I did) and switch to Apple's Mail, Calendar and Address Book. I've been using them for three months now, and I'm enjoying it very much. I miss categories (and the multi-colored calendars that they produced), and there's some minor loss of integration with the other Office Apps. And if you use Projects in Entourage, you'll miss those too. In return, you'll get MUCH faster startup times, faster app switching time, cleaner integration with the iPhone and Treo and NO duplicated entries in Calendar or Address Book. I also now use Pages, Numbers and Keynote much more often than their Microsoft counterparts, and again, am pleased with the quickness of the applications.

It does bother me that I've been loyal to the folks at the Mac Business Unit for so long and now I'm abandoning them, but I'm sure they won't miss me much. It just finally got to the point where I couldn't do it anymore. If you're not using a Treo or an iPhone, you might still be able to get by with Office 2008, but I now much prefer the Apple apps regardless of the cell phone integration.

Subject: Sync Services, Entourage

Microsoft had a sync Conduit for Entourage 2004 that worked with the Missing
Sync (which I used to synchronize my Treo755p. Worked perfectly.)

Is it the case there is no Conduit for 2008 (along with Visual Basic, etc., etc)? I can not find one. Missing Sync says they dropped it and Macwindows says the same. I have their latest version and get almost daily suggestions
on what to do next.

I was blindly using the old conduit after I upgraded to 2008 only to realize after a few days that NOTHING was syncing (and Missing Sync gave no hint of that!) I contacted them and they said the old Microsoft Ent 2004 conduit
did not work with Ent 2008. I was told I had to switch to using their
event/contact/todo conduits...which began a saga of grief, not yet resolved. With the Ent 2004 conduit everything worked smoothly and quickly. W/ o a conduit, it is unreliable, slow, occasionally halts on error messages and
sometimes messes up the data on the Treo.

What is my best strategy to get back what I had w/Ent 2004? I'm using
Leoard 10.5.3 on a quad MacPro early 2008.

TIA

My hopes for Entourage connecting to Mobile Me are now 0%.

If we can get Entourage syncing to Apple applications, then we should be
able to use Mobile Me.

I'm sure we'll have workarounds for some things. My disappointment is that it won't be "native" (except for mail, which will probably remain IMAP).
