ENTS,

We are a non-profit organization aren't we? Anyone interested in pursuing this
if the act passes the Senate? One book to read on the subject is Last Child in
the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder by Richard Louv

House Passes 'No Child Left Inside' Act

The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly showed its support for
enhancing environmental education programs across the country by passing the
'No Child Left Inside" Act (HR 3036).

The Act establishes a competitive grant program at the U.S. Department of
Education that awards funding to nonprofit organizations, state and local
educational agencies, and institutions of higher education for environmental
education programs and outreach.

The Trust for Public Land (TPL) applauded the House for passing this
bi-partisan bill that is an important step in reconnecting kids with nature.
This bill is one example of the increasing momentum to reconnect kids with
nature.

TPL's Parks for People initiative is supporting the effort by working to build
close-to-home parks and playgrounds, especially in cities, so that every child
has a place to play.
