Hi Ed, It is nice to be on the list. Neil Pederson reminded me of this list and I am very happy to have joined.
As for a description- I am a forest ecologist, and I just started a research/teaching faculty position at The University of Dayton. My research has been (and continues to be) focused on central and eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio. Two interesting forests I have worked in are the old-growth portions of Lilley Cornett Woods in eastern KY, http://academic.udayton.edu/RyanMcEwan/Field/LCW/LCW.htm and in "savanna" remnants in the Inner Bluegrass Region of KY http://picasaweb.google.com/the.tsuga/GriffithWoodsCentralKY# I am very excited about a number of very interesting old forests that I have discovered in the area around Dayton and am busy launching a series of studies here (in collaboration with Neil). I have also been working on the invasion ecology of bush honeysuckle and plan to continue that work in south OH. Here is the link to my lab's webpage: http://academic.udayton.edu/RyanMcEwan/ Thanks and Happy Holidays ryan --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Eastern Native Tree Society http://www.nativetreesociety.org You are subscribed to the Google Groups "ENTSTrees" group.
