A tree that size would likely already be dead around here. Seems like
there is nothing around to fill the gap between a 25-30ft Elm and the
80-90 footers. Seems the established trees are either innoculated or
somehow avoid the pest, and the saplings never make it much higher
than 25-30ft before you see them go brown and die in a matter of a
season.

Those pitch pines look great, I've never seen any open grown ones like
that. Around here they are either roadside and severely upbranched, or
forest grown and have very little for live lower branches and very
thin growth at that. Didnt realize they had a squatty form such as
that. Nice looking trees.
