Hey. I spoke to the ranger at Crowder Mountain State Park who discovered the large American chestnut there. He's willing to take me/us to see it and measure it. If anyone wants to go to do that, let me know and I can arrange for Ranger Cooke to take us to see the tree. Would be nice if at least one person with a clinometer could go along for the hike.
