When we came to South Jersey in 1985, a neighbor down the road had one in their
front yard, which was on a corner. The tree was beautiful and very healthy. But
for some reason several years ago the people had it removed. Now nothing is
there but grass. I don't get it.

Barry,    My Grandmother planted one in 1961 in Gautier, Ms. We have
thousands down here and some of them get large. I remember several
years ago there was a blight of some type that infected them. But over
the years they have come back.  I still enjoy the blooms even though
they were brought here to the U.S. from Asia and the Middle East.
