Ed and all,

Next week I'll cut cookies off of the two trees and count the rings.  I'll also
will buy a fast growing tree to plant to replace them.  Well, maybe I oughta to
wait till fall when it is a little better time to transplant trees.

The Red Bud was about 9" diameter at ground level and was about 40-45' tall.
the rough leaf dogwood is about 1" diameter at ground level and was about 12'
tall.
