If you discounted mountains formed via erosion, then you'd have to eliminate many eastern peaks, including ones such as Pilot Mountain and Mount Monadnock (for which the geological term "monadnock" is named.) Heck...every single mountain in the ridge & valley system in Alabama would have to go, along with most of the Ozarks, Ouahchita, and every other range in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
