I'm not sure if the bird's-eye view is available for every state. It took quite a bit of time before it was available for all of NJ. But if that view is available, you can look at something, click the share button, and it gives you a long URL. Then you click the "copy to clipboard" button and paste it into an email. I'm sure it works for the regular map views and aerial views as well. But I love the clarity of the bird's-eye view. It's amazing.

It just worked for me. http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCC&cp=qkx5jk8sf8sz&style=b&lvl=1&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&phx=0&phy=0&phscl=1&scene=14797384&encType=1 (Or, if that link is broken, try this http://tinyurl.com/n6syde ) Assuming this works, when you click the link you should be at an intersection of dirt roads. This is in the MSN bird's eye view (actually now called Bing instead of MSN). So if you scroll up just a bit you will be looking down on a big cedar swamp, a pure, unadulterated cedar swamp. This is at the north end (actually northeast) of the road I live on. I forget how far away it is, maybe 3 miles, or 4. Anyway, if the link takes you to exactly what I see here, you should be able to see the cedar swamp by scrolling a bit. Just a few yards south of there, you can see a tiny clearing where I ate my lunch today. What a place- a pine/oak forest and a cedar swamp. I love it. If that worked, I can show more maps or bird's-eye views like this to go with my posts. I highly recommend these bird's-eye views.
