Joe,

I watched the video. Keep up the good work. The first segment with Bob in
particular was very good. It is what we should be striving for in these
videos. Some of the major conservation organizations, like Greenpeace and the
Nature Conservancy, are using web based video to promote their causes. This
medium however is still evolving with hundreds of thousands of people
participating in the web video process. Who know how things will work out in
another ten years? I want to encourage people to try using video clips to
promote the scientific, aesthetic, documentation efforts of ENTS, and to
promote better forestry practices on areas appropriate for timber production
and conservation of places that should be preserved. Education and outreach
through video.

You might consider posting on both Vimeo and YouTube as the YouTube has a much
larger user base.

Subject: [ENTS] brief video of Bob showing Mike and Sun Leonard MTSF

I have a brief and very amateurish video of Bob Leverett showing some of the
big pines at Mohawk Trail State Forest in Charlemont, MA- to Mike and Sun
Leonard. (in the afternoon we went to the other side of the mountain where the
old growth hardwood is- but it was raining so I didn't try filming)

I had suggested to Bob that I could video some of his favorite areas but my
objective was to do it slowly with a tripod- and set up each scene carefully. I
couldn't really do that- because this trip was to show the old growth to Mike
and Sun who haven't been there previously- thus I was just following them and
trying to make the most out of it.

It's only about a minute and a half. Unless you have a very fast net
connection- because it's high definition, it's best to get it started then
click on the pause button- which will allow most/all of it to download, then
click on the button again- and it will play smoothly- otherwise it will stop
and go frequently. In the lower right is a button, if you click on it- you can
see the video full screen.

If I had kept notes on the names of the particular big trees I could add this
- and it would be more informative- perhaps Bob could let me know, then I'll
edit it.

I hope as time goes by to greatly improve this work of filming Bob at his
favorite places in this region and some foresters such as Mike too.
