ENTS, I know of a couple writers with fantastic fiction on Trees:J.R.R. Tolkien - The Lord of the Rings Charles de Lint - I highly recommend him especially the novel The Onion Girl, which describes incredible forests in the dreamlands, the other world beyond our world, and he even describes life forms in the canopies of trees much larger than redwoods! I also recommend the short story "The Forever Trees" in the collection The ivory and the Horn. No fiction writer I know of today makes trees come alive as magical beings filled with wonder.
