Last week I was in a nearby historic cemetery at the edge of Wharton State 
Forest, and I decided to shoot some video of a couple of trees there.
One of them is a nice hickory. I know of 3 more hickories just like that 
one (except bigger) at a church built in 1834, in another ghost town called 
Estellville. I believe hickories are native here, but they are quite uncommon. 
I'm not sure if they are native, but I THINK they are. But it's unusual to find 
a mature one. The best places to find mature hickories are around old 
churches or in cemeteries.

I found the other tree to be very beautiful. Maybe you will agree. It's also 
quite large.
