Here are a group of 4 white pines around an old house site in the ghost town/historic site of Atsion, in the NJ Pine Barrens. The photos are from many months ago. I measured two of the pines and both were over 11 feet in CBH, maybe 11 1/2 feet. They just don't have the height of your tree. We had several objectives, but one I had in particular was to visit a big white pine above Dunbar Brook on the south-facing ridge. I had a feeling it was going to be worth the detour. It was. The attached image shows Lee next to his new pine, i.e. the Lee Frelich Dunbar Pine. It is 12.3 feet in girth and 125 feet in height. It is a freaking big tree. Lee now has 3 trees named in his honor. He has two white pines in MTSF and a ponderosa pine in Colorado. That's a lot. Will is next on the list to get a third pine. However, no matter how hard they try, they'll never catch Monica who has at least 6 trees named for her and more on the way. I'll list them all in another email.
