Thanks for the excellent report Ed. I was unable to attend this year unfortunately, this was the next best thing. Love that shaggy old red maple!
I did make it up to Monroe State Forest on Sunday and have some visual treats in store for the ENTS, especially an exquisite unidentified coral fungus (or something like a coral fungus) growing in pileated woodpecker diggings in an old beech snag close by the Thoreau Pine.
