ENTS

I'm forwarding an email from Robert Campanile on the planned
exhibit of 10 top trees on DCR property. I'll soon settle on the
choice of trees. That's my job. Anyone who wants to contribute photos
is more than welcome. This may mean you'll need to be taken to the
trees, since their locations are not obvious. That is, of course,
where I come in.

> Hi Bob,
> I am sending you the criteria list for the photos that we will be
> using for the exhibit.
> Tim and I will be handling photos taken from the DCR side and I
> would like you to handle the ENTS side.
> To make this process more efficient I recommend that you edit the
> photos submitted to you by the ENTS and then send the finalists
> based on criteria fulfillment and aesthetics to me on a CD (It will
> have to be compatible with a MAC). I will then pick the ones used in
> the exhibit from both the ENTS and DCR finalists based solely on
> which is best suited for the project. This is not a photo contest
> but a way of getting people involved.
> TREE PHOTO CRITERIA:
> -color only
> -must accent size (width and height)
> -must have similar perspective (from the ground up)
> -do not crop photos
> -seasonal background can vary
> -go for drama and awe
> -set camera on large format shooting (we are planning on a 40in x
> 22in vertical print)
>
> When I decide on the sidebar themes we can be more creative with the
> photos.
>
> One wall of the exhibit will be profiling the park environments
> where the trees are located. We will be looking for panorama photos
> that accent the park’s natural beauty. If anyone has some for us to
> look at we welcome submissions. They will be printed up to 2 feet x
> 3 feet in size.
>
> If you have any questions call or e-mail.
>
> The deadline for the final photos to be in my hands is February 1st.
> The exhibit will open sometime in June and run through September.
> I am trying to raise the standard on this exhibit so I will need
> several months to work on it once I have all the info in my hands (I
> will be running this museum alone for a while).
> I will contact you soon regarding the copy I will need from you.
>
> Thanks again - this should be a very exciting project - I am happy
> you are on board.
