The largest Elm in Maine is about to be cut down, succumbed to DED. The wood is all going to be processed into benches, desks, pens, quite common really.

Those trees look like they have straight trunks. A lot of yard trees don't have straight, single-stem trunks, but when I see a nice stout oak tree cut down on the block and just chopped up for firewood it always seems like a waste.
