John,
It is an extremely small grove of hemlocks and red spruce. It is attractive, but there is so little of it. I don't know why it survived. The surrounding forest is young and undistinguished. I am embarrassed to say I haven't been up Parsonage Brook yet. I wonder how fast the pines are growing. One of the pines behind my house has grown from 103.1' x 9.5' to 116.5' x 10.1' in 6 years, and its bark looks similar to the one in the photo. -- Eastern Native Tree Society http://www.nativetreesociety.org Send email to [email protected] Visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/entstrees?hl=en To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] -- Eastern Native Tree Society http://www.nativetreesociety.org Send email to [email protected] Visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/entstrees?hl=en To unsubscribe send email to [email protected]
