ENTS

Today Monica and I traveled to Jamaica Plains. Monica had a
rehersal for an upcoming concert. We also visited Arnold Arboretum. I
wanted to measure the big silver maple on the grounds that I was once
told was 132 feet tall.

The dimensions of the maple are: girth = 17.9 ft; height = 111.4
ft. Very impressive. The silver maple dwarfs other trees on the
grounds. I don't recall the height measurement Andrew got, but I think
it is close to mine. I suppose I should inform the Arboretum of the
measurement, but I don't think they want to hear that their champion
has shrunk.
