Not to argue or anything like that, but I've been around White Oaks most of my 
life, and have never seen one with bark like that. When I see a white oak, 
immediately I know it is one, until now! The one you saw in Ontario has the 
strangest bark I've ever seen. It looks more like another species, maybe Elm or 
something. How interesting.

they are all images of a big white oak in Ontario.  I didn't send the wrong 
pictures. There is quite a bit of variation in bark and other characteristics 
of white oaks.
