Ed,

I'm trying to track down the title for you. I'll have to ask around because
after a brief search - no luck. There is one story called A Christmas Memory,
but that doesn't seems to be it.

I posted on a friend's FB wall who is a writer and has all these writer
friends. They think very highly of themselves....

ENTS,

As we are on this theme, I want to ask if anyone can recall the name of a short
story. I remember reading it when an undergraduate. It is a short story
written by Truman Capote. It is gothic in style, but not dark in mod. It is
set in a snowbound house in the woods. I have not been able to recall the name
of the story. I would like to find a copy and reread it again. In general I
am not a Truman Capote fan, but this story was memorable, even if the title has
not been.

Jenny, et all, I'm enjoying the poetry, so I thought that I'd post one
too! Larry

Orchard Trees, January by Richard Wilbur
It's not the case, though some might wish it so
Who from a window watch the blizzard blow

White riot through their branches vague and stark,
That they keep snug beneath their pelted bark.

They take affliction in until it jells
To crystal ice between their frozen cells,

And each of them is inwardly a vault
Of jewels rigorous and free of fault,

Unglimpsed until in May it gently bears
A sudden crop of green-pronged solitaires.
