Bob: Hope you made it through all the storms OK.
I had to leave a day early and return home a day late to visit my brother in southern Wisconsin for Christmas due to the big 3-day Christmas blizzard of 2009. Many highways were closed for a day or more in the Minneapolis area. The weather forcasters said that anyone who didn't get where they were going by the end of the day last Wednesday probably wasn't going to go anywhere. In southern Wisconsin we missed the heavy snow but had enough freezing rain that I couldn't get in my car (doors were iced shut), and a lot of trees fell down, culminating in a lightning-like flash, loud explosion, and 12-hour power outage on Christmas Eve. The power came on just in time to finish cooking dinner for several people (only 3 or 4 hours late), who made it to our house somehow, probably by ice skating. On the return trip to Minneapolis today there was not a spec of snow on the highway--typical hyperactive Minnesota snow removal.
