It's true that Avatar mentioned communication between tree roots -- a great concept allegorically but also something I've heard about in the science world.
Here's a link to one such bit of evidence.... I'm really interested in what tree experts think about the degree and type of chemical communication between trees, between plants. I know there are some herbicidal chemicals secreted as a competitive strategy, and this is about growth inhibition factors.... Does anyone have more information about different kinds of signalling?
