Hi all, I'm new here and new to the whole endeavor of measuring and tracking significant trees, but after lurking here for a couple months, I will say I am fascinated thus far. I live in Western Mass, near the base of Mt. Tom in Easthampton and try to tromp through the forest whenever I can. I thought this Boston Globe article on the demise of a 230+ year old elm in Maine would be of interest to folks here:
