I don't know about the mold or pollen you refer to. I never considered it a problem. We do have copious amounts of pine pollen in February, but from all accounts it does not trigger allergys or asthma because of the size of it. As for pollution you are right. When I have to go up to Atlanta you can see it in the air almost 100 miles away, but down here in the SE and the same is true in FLA, the air is quite clear and clean, perhaps because of sea breezes. We do a tremendous amount of burning during the winter time, the military reservations and wildlife refuges burn several thousand acres at a time and the smoke disipates pretty quick and seldom is noticed during the daytime. We do have lots of bugs, but they are not that much of a problem and nothing to compare to the black flies up in NH and Maine.
