Dan, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest is an amazing place. I last visited there almost two years ago and did a little measuring, including a huge White Pine. I had only been there once before this trip and that was before getting involved with ENTS and measuring trees, which was very new to me at the time of the second visit.
Will sent me an e-mail earlier in the day on Joyce Kilmer, I think he is getting data together to do a Rucker Index on the site. http://www.nativetreesociety.org/fieldtrips/north_carolina/jkmf/joyce_kilmer_memorial_forest_2008a.htm James Parton P.S. On a recent post you had a big chestnut relic pictured from Joyce Kilmer. Where in the forest is it?
