You'll find the locations of two already entered in the discussion
topic.  The one on Bradley Fork, in the Smokies, is beyond the end of
the trail that goes along the main stream.  Before it heads downhill
sharply to the campsite, look for an abandoned trail that heads along
the contour to the left.  It's a constructed trail, well-graded, but
grown over with trees and rhodo.  You can follow it, with difficulty,
for at least a mile.  The chestnut rampic is not far from the
campground, and you'd probably  find it without finding the trail if
you explore the woods up the valley from the campsite.
