This is not my area at all, unfortunately. I suspect an infrared summer
leaf-on filter would be a better option. then match it with LiDAR hits. The
scale Josh (NC) has is still a 20 foot grid (right Josh?)- Josh says a 1
meter resolution is soon to come.

Great trip report!
Great to hear of LIDAR utility (with the cautionary note due to all remote
sensing)!
My question?  You said this LIDAR run was filtered for >160 which was
effective for height alone...my friends' work up here in the PNW indicates
that they are closing in on 'species filters', albeit most successfully with
conifers.  Are 'species' filters possible back there? (I'm guessing only in
leaf-on imagery capture)?
