ENTS Speaking of dive-bombing by birds. Several years ago I participated in some banding of goshawks near Brookville, PA. The banders brought in a captive horned owl. It was placed on the ground tethered near a goshawk nest. The two parent goshawks would then dive at it trying to scare it away from the nest. A mist net was placed along the dive path to capture the goshawks. After many failures we managed to capture and tag one of the pair. The other got wise and was never captured.
I posted three videos of the day on YouTube. The first is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTz0oWKnDlM I should redo them as now YouTube has better quality video than when I first posted a few years ago.
