ENTS, On 7/22/09 my wife and I took a trip to Northern Kentucky for a week long conference in the vicinity of Dinsmoore Woods. We had previously visited this site on 9/29/07 and spent most of the afternoon due west of the homestead and south of RT18. We had a couple hours free time on 7/22/09 to tour the Kentucky countryside and decided to take another detour past Dinsmoore Woods.
We were in between downpours, so this time I only measured some of the trees located at the homestead, no woods trees, all open grown or edge trees. Hopefully next trip I'll get into the woods north of the homestead. Quick perusal from the edge looked like it was pretty heavily logged, but the decent sized tulip listed below was on the edge of the northern woodlot. The "caretaker" said as much, but mentioned there might be some larger scattered trees further back in on the north side. Data follows: *Species CBH Height Comments* black cherry 11.5 86.3 homestead, N of RT18 (along edge of RT18) black walnut 12.4 84.4 homestead, N or RT18, 2x, CBH taken at waiste 1.6' up black walnut N/A 82.3 homestead, S of RT18, poison ivy on trunk black walnut ~10.5 88.8 homestead, S of RT18, poison ivy on trunk chinquapin oak 9.2 113 homestead, N of RT18 tuliptree ~14.8 113.8 homestead, N of RT18, edge of northern woodlot, poison ivy on trunk This will bring the RI up a little for Dinsmoore Woods to *106.16* *Species CBH Height Comments* sycamore *12.2* 126.1+ big tooth aspen 7.9 121.9 tuliptree 9.3 120.1+ chinquapin oak 9.2 113 black walnut 4.5 105.1+ N. red oak 6.9 102.1+ common hackberry 6.4 100.6 shagbark hickory 5.1 99.3+ swamp white oak 9.9 87.1+ black cherry 11.5 86.3 Dale
