Governance
(1) SENIOR POLICY ADVISOR: MARINE AND COASTAL ECOTOURISM (12 Month Term
Appointment - Indonesian National)
Proyek Pesisir is the USAID-BAPPENAS coastal resources management project.
The project is implemented via the Coastal Resources Center of the
University of Rhode Island in partnership with a range of government,
non-government, industry, community and academic organizations.
In support of a new partnership with the DirJen Tourism, Proyek Pesisir is
now seeking a senior policy advisor to:
(a) undertake research on aspects of tourism in marine and coastal areas of
Indonesia
(b) assist local governments and communities in North Sulawesi, Lampung and
East Kalimantan to identify and develop locally appropriate ecotourism
operations
(c) contribute policy and planning advice to the newly formed National
Ecotourism Development Board
The successful applicant will have:
(a) a bachelor (S1) and preferably postgraduate (S2) degree in appropriate
discipline
(b) at least 10 years experience in conducting research and policy studies
relevant to tourism/coastal area development
(c) an advanced knowledge of the Indonesian tourism industry
(d) a demonstrated understanding of ecotourism concepts
(e) a capacity to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English
and Indonesian
(2) SENIOR POLICY ADVISOR: COASTAL RESOURCES GOVERNANCE (12 Month Term
Appointment - Indonesian National)

In support of an ongoing partnership with the Directorate General for
Regional Development (DitJen BANGDA), Proyek Pesisir is now seeking a senior
policy advisor to:
(a) undertake research on aspects of marine and coastal resources governance
of Indonesia
(b) assist local governments and communities in North Sulawesi, Lampung and
East Kalimantan to identify and develop locally appropriate governance
models
(c) contribute policy and planning advice to the multi-agency National
Advisory Committee for Proyek Pesisir
The successful applicant will have:
(a) a bachelor (S1) and preferably postgraduate (S2) degree in appropriate
discipline
(b) at least 10 years experience in conducting research and policy studies
relevant to national resources governance
(c) an advanced knowledge of institutional and legal aspects of natural
resources management
(d) a capacity to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English
and Indonesian
