NGO Staff Security Training Course
Jakarta, Indonesia,Morning of 24th - Evening of 27th July, 2000
As part of our two-year programme on NGO security RedR, in collaboration with Care, is
organising an NGO Staff Security Training Course in Jakarta.
security Programme
RedR's programme of regional field based security workshops and training draw upon the
work of the Interaction project 1997/98, that developed an NGO security management
training curriculum. This programme provides a unique, holistic, NGO specific approach
to tackling security issues in particular contexts. The workshop has been further
developed during similar events run in Albania, Kosovo, and Sierra Leone.
The two-year programme is being run in regions in, or adjacent to, areas of conflict.
Within each region the Security Management Workshops are being followed up with two
Staff Security Training Courses.
Staff Security TRaining COurse
A course that aims to enhance the skills of NGO personnel at middle management level,
so that they can operate effectively and safely in insecure environments and
contribute to the security training of their staff. The workshop will equip
participants with the tools and approaches to:
a.. Analyse threats and vulnerabilities within their specific context.
b.. Review and improve security practice and procedures.
c.. Develop and deliver security training activities for field staff
The course in Jakarta will address the following topics:
