Hello James, thanks for the post. No argument from me that digital and film
are different. I also am a fan of the possibilities of digital and am
already impressed with the quality that it can and am looking forward to
what it will produce. I won't be buying a D30 or better though until as
Bradley predicts the price drops a huge amount.

And I don't want to have to save "~1000" low res shots on a memory card for
the cost of a D30, or digital Elph and instanlty upload them to somewhere.
What am I going to do with 1000 too low resolution images? Most
photographers shoot too many bad photos already don't they? Assuming that
many photographers also miss focus a plenty, add the low res factor and
you've got even worse shots. (BTW can you see critical focus on the small
screen at the back magnified to 10X. That would be a nice feature to have?)

I do not intend to get further into a pro EOS digital vs. film camera
debate. But when I see so many amateurs and pros ready to give up their high
res film memory devices and cameras for expensive and rapidly changing and
comparatively much lower res digital cameras and memory sticks, I'd just
like to remind them that film won't be obliterated by digital all that
quickly and is presently incredible, not will be incredible.

Are you awake now Bradley? ;-)
