Has anyone bought and used an EOS D30? There are reports by users on the
web that the D30 autofocusing system is not even as good as that on the A2,
Elan 7 or even the Rebel 2000. The reports are that the D30 cannot focus
in dim light as well as the Rebel 2000 (based upon user's side by side
tests with both cameras using the same lens) and that it cannot track
moving subjects very well. I am more concerned by the dim light issue than
the moving subject issue.
I wanted to buy one but not if it cannot focus as well as the A2 in dim
light. As the D30's are somewhat rare, I have not found one to examine in a
store. I would be interested in anyone's observations who also owns the A2,
the Elan 7 or even a Rebel 2000 if they have a D30.
