They sell for $200, or thereabouts.
And to answer the question raised by another listmember: the ST-E2 is
not a flash unit, but does provide AF assist. It's a controller for
slave flashes; while assisting AF, it will also allow you to trigger
your 420EX or 550EX off-body (which is where they belong :)).
To switch back and forth between using it as AF Assist only vs. flash-
trigger, simply turn on/off your slave flash unit. No fiddling with
custom functions necessary.
At least in theory: I don't own one yet. Perhaps an ST-E2 user can
confirm.
