100-1000 zoom lens with no loss of quality
Conan revealed today a new prototype "zoom in camera" body.
It has a pair of shutters that reduce the area of the negative used.
With a 100mm lens the negative area exposed can be reduced from 35mm
wide right down to only 3.5mm. The result, a 1000mm lens with NO loss
of aperture: f2.8 is still f2.8. 100 lpm is still 100 lpm.
Sound fishy? No, of course not. Read any literature about the APS
format or even about CCD sensors for the explanation. Focal length
has been redifined to fit into the "I want it now" digital era. No
need to buy big, heavy expensive lenses ... with a 300 this body will
let you read a newspaper in China ... assuming you read Chinese that
is.
Even the Media's best experts know that.
It really is too good to be true!
