Dear Gang,
Not that this point hasn't already been touched on by others, but.........
I tried a couple of digital systems this weekend whilst shooting a college
game with a friend, and I was totally floored by the results and the
flexibility. I tried the Nikon D1 and the EOS D30. The D1 had a 1GB drive
which allowed about 850 images without ever having to reload!!!!
I'm now wishing that I had thought more clearly before sinking a chunk of
change into a new (chemical emulsion) pro-model EOS. I'm going to sell my
new camera right after Christmas to have the dough to buy the upcoming
digital EOS 1v (or whatever it's going to be called). The savings in film
and developing more than justify the initial outlay of funds in my humble
opinion now. I had no idea that digital images could look so good - some of
these images were blown up to 11x8 and they look film based work.
Just my .02 for a new "believer".
Mark D.
