I just bought my wife an EOS Elan 7. It is an upgrade to her EOS Elan II.
I got it for the improved autofocus and metering. My wife use the 100-400
IS lens a lot (it used to be mine). She also uses the 1.4 teleconverter
which she had to manual focus with the Elan II. The sales brochure for the
Elan 7 says it will AF the 100-400 with the 1.4 teleconverter except at the
closer focusing distances. It does not! The top LCD displays a flashing MF
as soon as you mount the lens and it AF will not activate. The Elan 7 will
AF with the 1.4 teleconverter and the 500 f/4 IS lens. Anyone else have the
same results with the 100-400 IS? Why?
