Hi all, this is my first post after being off the list for several
months (no time to read it).

I bought four L zooms when I jumped off the Nikon train and love two of
them. Until her recent jump to EOS from FD, my girlfriend shot with an
old AL-1 and a 50/1.8, and I have to say that lens is as sharp as any L
zoom I have.

Since everyone is sharing "my next L" stories I guess I'll throw in mine
-- I'm saving my pennies for a 300/2.8. I rejected an offer from an
acquaintance a year or two ago to buy his 300/2.8 for $2500 as it seemed
like a useless focal length not being "that much" longer that a 200. I
have seen the light and anything beyond 300 is too heavy and expensive
in fast glass to be practical for me.

Cheers,
Bill G.
