It appears that OPTech unit attaches to one of the normal strap mounts on the top of the camera body and the other end mounts to the bottom of the camera via the tripod mounting hole. The Tamrac strap uses a top mounting ring of the body and the other end attaches to the ring on the booster. I was looking at the Tamrac unit a couple of days ago on B&H's website. Does it have quick release locks so you can remove the strap? I ask, because if I bought a Tamrac neckstrap with the same quick releases, then I can interchangably use a top-mounted neck strap or side-mounted hand grip with ease. Just mount the strap that you want to use for the situation. I currently do this with a Vero Vellini strap, but only mounted to the side of my ElanIIe/Bp-50. If I remove the neckstrap via the quick releases, then the two remaining ends still attached to the body are long enough and can lock together to make a functional hand strap. But I guess I could always buy another Vero Vellini to gain another quick release end to mount to the other mounting ring on the top of my camera body. (There's just hard to find locally.) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores.
