Hello!
After long considering I recently bought my first L lens (70-200/f4) from
NYC store. Great leans!!!
Before I was thinking to buy some x-300 zoom or more, but good lenses then
is coming very costly,
therefore I am going to buy third party extender(s) to use with my new lens
and EOS 50 body.
Canon's extenders is too expensive for me.
In the list was good references about new Kenko Pro extenders and they are
available also
from NYC (due to COD that is the best store for me). Recently was discussion
about extenders and
their use with f2.8 lenses, but not with slower lenses.
In my case there are two choices:
1) F4 lens+1.4 ext = 300/f5.6 - EOS 50 still can have AF
2) F4 lens+ 2.0ext = 400/F8 - EOS 50 do not have AF (maybe camera could try
to have AF, as seems
third party extenders do not report to camera what are the actual F number)
My questions:
- does someone has experience with this lens and these extenders, how about
AF, AF speed, losses of image
quality etc. Is there any comparisons available?
- is the difference between 300mm and 400 mm very significant?
- What are your suggestions to buy better: 1.4 ext or 2.0 ext.?
Thanks for your opinion,
Janis
