Hi there. It is difficult isn't it. Especially when the stuff weighs so
damn much.

The camera bag I tote around normally has two Kodak DCS-520s (Canon
D2000s), a 17-35f2.8, 28-70f2.8, 70-200f2.8 and a 85/f1.8 plus a 550ex
flash, Canon power charger thing and then a Sony Vaio C1 (just upgraded to
their new Crusoe model, yet haven't installed the gubbins on it). A 1.4x
extender just in case too.

Access to other lenses from 14mm2.8 up to Canon's 500f4 and even a
mammoth 2000/f11 Nikkon for when you want to watch what they are doing in
France from England;) But it weighs a lot and airlines don't like me. I
used to carry a 35-350 variable until getting the 28-70/70-200. I miss the
'extra length' and can see times where the 28-70/70-200 will be 'dumped'
in favour of the generalist lens.

Is it me or are monopods harder to use than holding it in your hand??

Well the standard issue at most newspapers that hand out equipment is a
couple of camera bodies a 17-35/2.8, am 70(80)-200/2.8, and lighting
equipment. Some will have 14mm, especially papers that are digital, and
