I've noticed no problems with regards to water etc. I've had them out in light showers and very cold weather. Obviously I've not set out to get them soaked (I was more worried about the possible problems with a large flash battery unit on my belt "around four inches away from the vitals"... I had an old Cosina 19-35 lens but it wasn't comparable. I've not tried any third-party 17-35s. It was such an important lens I instinctively (foolishly, to some?) bought Canon. How dust and water proof are these lenses? How much better is the Canon 17-35mm over the third party equivelents? * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
