EOS How good is the 24/1.4L?

Does anyone have any experience with the 24 1.4L?  How do you like it?  I
will be using it on a D30, so I will not get a true 24mm out of it (converts
to about 38mm).  What attracts me to it is the 1.4 speed.  How does it
perform at 1.4 or 2.0?
